The Implant Process

Dr. Spelman and Dr. Orlando handle every step of the implant process in-house. After a thorough evaluation and digital imaging, the implant post is placed in the jawbone. Over several months, the bone fuses around the post. Once healed, a custom crown is attached that matches your surrounding teeth.

Implant-Supported Dentures

If you wear dentures that slip or feel uncomfortable, implant-supported dentures may be the answer. By anchoring your denture to two or more implants, we can eliminate the slipping, the adhesive, and the sore spots that come with traditional dentures.

Most adults with healthy gums and adequate bone are candidates. We evaluate your jawbone density with digital imaging and discuss your options during a consultation. If bone grafting is needed, we can often handle that as well.
With proper care, dental implants can last a lifetime. The crown on top may need replacing after 10 to 15 years, but the implant itself is designed to be permanent.
Most patients are surprised by how comfortable the process is. We use local anesthesia during placement, and any soreness afterward is usually manageable with over-the-counter pain relief for a few days.
From placement to final crown, the process typically takes 3 to 6 months. Most of that time is healing. The actual procedures are relatively quick.
